What is the Secret To Tender Ribs?
If you want tender fall off the bone ribs you have to consider cooking them slow and low.
Whether in the oven, on a smoker, or grilled cooking at a slow and low temperature allows the ribs to remain juicy and succulent giving you that fall of the bone texture everyone loves.
Today's recipe we cooked the ribs for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. then transferred the ribs to the grill to finish them off for about 15 minutes over a low flame just enough to get that classic kissed by the grill charred flavor.
If you don't want the hassle of finishing on the grill, you can also set the oven to a low broil to get the same effect.
Simply remove foil and broil on low until lightly charred then glaze with marinade and cover back with aluminum foil allowing to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Wrapping rib rack tightly in aluminum foil is a great way to ensure a juicy moist fall of the bone result.
What Do You Season Ribs With?
A dry rub is a must for getting succulent tasty ribs.
A variety of seasonings work well with ribs so use what you have and its sure to turn out delicious.
For this recipe we seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and cumin.
The most important part of seasoning is to apply enough evenly over the entire set of ribs.
I'm a soul cook so I just eyeball it and when it looks enough it usually is.
This is a really easy recipe that allows you to use what you have on hand and is truly difficult to mess up just be mindful of the cayenne that one can get overpowering if you add too much.
We also used a wet marinade with Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce and Thai Style Sweet Chili Sauce to deliver a sweet, tangy sauce with a hint of heat that adds a nice twist to classic baby back ribs.
To keep the moisture giving us juicy delicious ribs we also added 2 cups of Whitehouse Apple Juice to a deep baking pan allowing the ribs to slowly cook submerged in this sweet liquid.
